Playaz N the Game is the second album by JT the Bigga Figga, released in July 1993 as the first official release on his Get Low Recordz label.
The story
“Game Recognize Game” became a local smash on Wild 107.7, and the buzz led to a bidding war that ended with JT signing to Priority in 1994. The album features Mac Mall, Rappin’ 4-Tay, D-Moe, Gigolo G and a young San Quinn, and it reached No. 91 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Sound and production
JT and Gregg produced, with slow, rolling funk grooves built for car stereos. “Peep Game” was the second single.
Legacy
The phrase “game recognize game” spread far beyond the Bay, and the album is a key document of the Fillmore scene.
