Trap Muzik is the second album by Atlanta rapper T.I., released by Grand Hustle and Atlantic in August 2003.

The story

After a slow-selling debut, T.I. came back with a title that gave a name to a whole genre. “24’s,” “Be Easy” and “Rubber Band Man” made him a star, and the album went platinum.

Sound and production

DJ Toomp, Jazze Pha, David Banner and others supplied the beats, with DJ Toomp’s hard drums and brassy synths pointing the way to the trap sound.

Legacy

Trap Muzik is the record T.I. points to when he says he named trap music, and its influence is everywhere in rap today.
