Still Trying to Survive in the Ghetto is the 1995 follow-up to Big Herm’s first compilation, released by Black Power Productions.

The story

Two years after Trying to Survive in the Ghetto, Herm returned with an 18-track set built around a newer group of San Francisco and Bay Area artists. He is credited as executive producer and again opens and closes the album.

Sound and production

T.C., The Enhancer and Black-C produced, with co-production by Race, Reg and Rob V. Contributors include Primo (“City of da Players”), N.O.H. Mafia, 187 Mob, 3-Deep, 11/5 with U.D.I. (“Sucka Free H.P.”), Dre Dog (“Crooked Crow”), West Mob and Female Fonk. The title track is a posse cut with Primo, T-Lowe, Young Life and more.

Legacy
