Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z… is 2Pac’s second album, released on February 16, 1993, by TNT Recordings and Interscope.

The story

Recorded partly at Starlight Sound in Richmond, California, it was his commercial breakthrough. Guests include Ice Cube, Ice-T, Dave Hollister, Shock G, Money-B, Mopreme Shakur and Treach.

Sound and production

Producers included Big D the Impossible, DJ Bobcat, Special Ed, Akshun and Laylaw, with Shakur co-producing. “I Get Around” with Shock G and Money-B and “Keep Ya Head Up” with Dave Hollister were the big singles.

Legacy

It debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard 200. “I Get Around” reached No. 11 and “Keep Ya Head Up” No. 12 on the Hot 100, and the album went platinum in 1995.
