Period. is a 2023 album by Paradime, released on September 22, 2023, by Mello Music Group. It was his first solo album since Breaking Beauregard in 2011.

The story

Paradime signed with Mello Music Group in 2023, and before the album he released the singles “Rope Chain Music” and “The Reign,” the latter with Apollo Brown. The label’s description presents Period. as a comeback after a 12-year break from solo albums. Its songs deal with family, faith, addiction and personal change, and it includes a track named after the release date, “September 22nd.”

Sound and production

Apollo Brown and Charlie Beans produced the album, and Wayne Gerard played guitar and co-wrote. Guests are drawn largely from Detroit: Guilty Simpson on “Rock A Bye,” Marv Won and Ty Farris on “Wolf Greys,” A Minus on “This High” and Copywrite on “Phlegm.” The 19-track edition ends with the bonus track “Time 4 Sum” and a Marv Won remix of “Rock A Bye.”

Legacy

Mello Music Group released official videos for “Rock A Bye” and “Time 4 Sum” and issued the album on vinyl, including an indie-exclusive pressing. Paradime followed it with another album, L, in 2024, which marked a new period of regular releases decades after his Top Dog and Beats At Will years.
