Fiendin’ 4 tha Funk is the debut album by 11/5, also written Eleven Five, the Hunters Point, San Francisco trio of Maine-O, Hennessy and Taydatay, released in 1995 by Dogday Records.

The story

The album reached No. 76 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, a strong showing for an independent release. Tracks like “Garcia Vegas,” the title cut and “The Way I Was Raised” captured Hunters Point life with a party edge.

Sound and production

T.C. produced and arranged the album, giving it the thick, funky low end he brought to many Bay records of the era.

Legacy

It set up the group’s bigger follow-up and remains a favorite among collectors of 90s San Francisco rap.
