The story

It reached No. 1 on the R&B albums chart and No. 4 on the Billboard 200, and went platinum. Singles included “I’m a Player” and “Money in the Ghetto,” with guests Ant Banks, Spice 1 and Rappin’ Ron.

Sound and production

The Dangerous Crew and Quincy Jones III produced at Dangerous Studios, with live bass and keys that made the Oakland sound thick and funky.

Legacy

It captures the Dangerous Crew at full strength, right before Too $hort left Oakland for Atlanta.
