Heat 4 Yo Azz is the debut album by Vallejo rapper Celly Cel, born Marcellus McCarver, released in 1994 on E-40’s Sick Wid’ It Records and reissued with Jive the same year.
The story
Recorded at The Mob Shop in Vallejo and K-Lou Studios in Richmond, the album features E-40 and B-Legit and reached No. 34 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The Jive version drops “Zig Zags & Body Bags.”
Sound and production
Mike Mosley, Sam Bostic and Studio Ton supplied the dark, bass-heavy mobb sound that defined Sick Wid’ It, heard on the title track, “Bailin’ Thru My Hood” and “Gin Wit No Juice.”
Legacy
It established Celly Cel as a core member of the Sick Wid’ It family.
