Life Insurance is the debut album by New Orleans rapper Mr. Serv-On, released in August 1997 on No Limit Records through Priority. Master P was executive producer, and production came from No Limit’s in-house team (KLC, Craig B and O’Dell) along with Brotha Lynch Hung, Carlos Stephens and Mo B. Dick.
The album has 18 tracks and runs about 76 minutes. It came out during No Limit’s commercial peak, after Serv-On had appeared on TRU albums and on the I’m Bout It soundtrack.
Life Insurance sold 50,000 copies in its first week and peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, placing No. 82 on the 1997 year-end R&B albums chart. In a 2015 interview he said it went gold within five weeks. His next album, Da Next Level (1999), went to No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
