True Story, Terror Squad’s second album, was released on July 27, 2004, through SRC Records, Universal Records and Terror Squad Entertainment. Steve Rifkind and Fat Joe were the executive producers. The lineup was Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Armageddon, Prospect and Tony Sunshine, and the track “Bring ‘Em Back” included the late Big Pun and Big L.
Production came from Scott Storch, Cool & Dre, Lord Finesse, Buckwild, Scram Jones, Beat Novacane, Emile and LV. The album debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with about 90,000 copies sold in its first week, and reached No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart.
The lead single, “Lean Back,” produced by Storch and written by Fat Joe, Remy Ma and Storch, topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks starting August 21, 2004. It was certified gold and earned a Grammy nomination. “Take Me Home” followed as the second single.
