See all on eBay →Sleep Depravation is the 2014 debut album by Detroit rapper Sleepy Eyed Jones, released independently on June 26, 2014 through his 365 Soulja Live’n imprint. It runs 24 songs and about an hour and 34 minutes.
The story
It followed two 2011 mixtapes, Insomnia the Mixtape and No Doze, and kept the running theme of his titles: an artist who doesn’t sleep. Where the tapes were a warm-up, the album was built as a showcase of the Detroit underground around him.

The features read like a map of Detroit’s independent scene in the early 2010s: Boldy James and Young Noble of the Outlawz on “The Life,” Marv Won, Sakred and Tiff Morgan on “Hold Me Down,” Big Herk and Boskeet on “Sumthin Outta Nuthin,” Moe Dirdee and Supa Emcee on “Superman,” Petey Pi on “Dying Breed” and “Hell,” Sho Biz and Hydro on “Hustle 4 Hours,” Tale on “Tryna Blow” and “You’ll Never Know,” and M-City J.r. with Rashad Morgan on “4 tha $.” Tiff Morgan sings on “It’s Whateva 2nite” and “Actually Yours.”
