Setripn’ Bloccstyle is the debut album by South Sacramento rapper Mr. Doctor, released by Black Market Records on November 21, 1995.

The story

Presented by Brotha Lynch Hung, who appears on several songs including “Bloccstyle,” “Killa Cap Pilla,” “Treat ‘Em Like Hoez” and “Da Real Deal,” it came out the same year as Lynch’s Season of da Siccness. Baby Reg, Foe Loco, DJ Kat and Loki also appear.

Sound and production

Brotha Lynch Hung produced nearly every track, with Marcellous “Baloo” Perkins, and Cedric Singleton executive produced. It runs 16 tracks.

Legacy

It’s a cult favorite from Black Market’s peak, and original CD and cassette copies are sought after by Sacramento rap collectors.
