Car shows and clubs
Triple Beam is a Sacramento trio, Shotgun, Pook and Chop, formed in 1996. They built their following the Sacramento way: local shows and car shows, and opening slots for the Luniz, Suga Free and Daz.
Black Market Records
They signed to Cedric Singleton's Black Market Records, the label behind X-Raided and Brotha Lynch Hung, and released their debut, 28 G's w/o the Bag, in 1999. “Parking Lot Pimpin'” got regional radio play. Conspiracy followed in 2000, with “Collection Agency,” “Baller's World” and a remix of “Parking Lot Pimpin'.”
A-1
After their second album, Shotgun and Pook started their own A-1 Entertainment, releasing 36 Zips in the early 2000s. The group took a long break while one member was incarcerated, then reunited and kept recording.
