Bossa nova

Marcos Kostenbader Valle was born in Rio de Janeiro on September 14, 1943. With his brother, lyricist Paulo Sérgio Valle, he wrote “Samba de Verão” (1964), which as “Summer Samba” became one of the most-recorded Brazilian songs of the decade.

The 70s run

In the early 70s he turned toward rock, soul and jazz-funk on records like Mustang Cor de Sangue (1969), Garra (1971) and Previsão do Tempo (1973), which featured the players who became Azymuth. Those albums are some of the most sought-after Brazilian LPs among diggers.

Later

He spent time in the U.S. in the late 70s writing with Leon Ware and Chicago, came home with the boogie of Estrelar (1983), and has kept recording with Far Out Recordings in London since the 2000s.
